Kapolei Backyard BBQ Recap
Goodtimes, good grinds, cold drinks, rad skateboarding, and great people all at the Kapolei Backyard BBQ! If you weren't there you missed out on what's brewing in the underground of the Hawaii skateboard scene. No discredit to what's going on in the streets and the more emphasized areas for skateboarding here in Hawaii but Kapolei has had it going on for quite some time. The level of skateboarding and what's going on is at a whole other level. On top of that the people who skate and watch over this park are down right the most humble people you will ever come across. There's a feeling of ohana (family) and comradarie at Kapolei. Everybody seems to welcome all comers with aloha as long as their not being donkeys! When the session gets heated everybody seems to push each other to step it up instead of trying to one up the other. It really is a great atmosphere and all that is good about skateboarding here in Hawaii. Mahalo to Ben and Geoff (Vans), Blue Hawaii Surf, Eighty Four Skate Co. Kyle (Death Machine), Jeff (Medium Fits), Holo and Louie (Ciren Skateboards) and the whole (Shakas x Alohas) Ohana for putting on a rad event. Also big mahalos to the Kapolei Ohana and all that showed up and helped make the event a great success!!!
