Last night in Beijing

On our last day in Beijing we ran around all day handling some business. By the time 4 o'clock came along Dyson and I were over it. We still had some souvenir shopping to do. Our friend Vince was kind enough to pick us up and take us to the markets where we could bargain and get stuff for cheap. Dyson even managed to get some prescription eyeglasses from Dr. Feelgood for $35.00. The lady checked his eye sight, figured his vision, and filled his prescription in some knock off Ray Ban frames in about 20 minutes. I don't think she was an optometrist but Dyson said he'd never seen so clear in his life when he put on the glasses. Are we getting ripped off in the U.S. or what? Dys said the only reason he never got glasses back home is because his medical didn't cover it, so it would cost an arm and a leg for a pair of prescription eye glasses.

After we pau shopping, Vince took us to one of his favorite local hot pot restaurants. Perfect because it was starting to get cold outside! We had to wait outside for about 30 minutes freezing our balls off, but it was well worth it!

Beef or sheep!

There were two sides to the hot pot. The spicy side (red) and not spicy (clear).
This was fresh baked bread. Braaaahh it was soooo good! It was super crispy and look like there individual layers of thin dough that made up the bread! That and beer and I'd be content!
Look at the size of that lettuce on the dirty floor!
Mahalo Vince!
Night shopping in the super busy alley.
Raddest Starbucks we came across!
Cafe racer in China. Some hipster owned this. We can't escape the hipsters even in China.

Last stop was to get a cold beer to drink in the cold weather. This place had the most elaborate selection of beer and it was located in an alley. Vince said all the Chinese military guys patronize the bar next door, so they probably stop in here as well to get the high end stuff. There was a bench with a long table out front and Vince said this is where they come to drink some times in the summer before going out for the evening. China's version of Ewa Pantry!

Aloha Sanya!

After "special breakfast" we went to grab the rest if the crew to head out to the airport. Typical skateboarders were still asleep at 11am!

Dyson and Vince going over the possibilities here. Only a skateboarder would see their surroundings differently!

Detour! Wtf? I guess we're going to eat again! This place specializes in Northern Chinese cuisine. More meat than usual meals we had been eating. They say because the weather is cold up north they eat heavier food.

Get on your gloves and get ready for the cavity search! These ribs required gloves not sure why but it was a big chunk of meat.
Mixed noodles looked like jellyfish! There was a clear wide type noodle mixed in with sprouts, green onions, peanuts, and chicken.
This bread was so good! It looks like a twist doughnut but it wasn't sweet.
That custard our looking thing was ridiculously good it was a flaky layered bread that you unraveled like a cinnamon bun. Once again it wasn't sweet but it was thin and non filling so you wouldn't get full from it.
Opium Pipes! All the waitress had these opium pipes in their hair and the pipes were also attatched to the menu as well as used as decoration throughout the restaurant. Taking smoke break to a whole new meaning!
After lunch we made our way to the Sanya airport. I was in the lookout for the family of four on a scooter but could only come across this fam. Newborn baby wrapped tightly in a blanket while the dad talked on his cell and split lanes!
For our flight to Beijing we had to jump on a bus and drive on the Tarmac to catch our plane.

Tsuyong first on the plane. Garanz he missed his girlfriend and he was in a hurry to get home to her! I don't blame him, after 4 days in cramped cars and airplane rides I was feeling the same way but we still had a week left in Beijing to go.

"Special Breakfast" again!

Today would be our last day on the Hainan Island. Michael and Terry wanted to take Dyson and I to another special breakfast place. So we got up did our shit and got ready to hit the road!

Dyson's morning sketch over a cup of coffee.
The view out the back of our lanai. Dyson actually washed his jeans in the sink with shampoo and hung them out dry out here!

Wake the fuck up Dyson! After waking up and doing his thing he went back to lay down. Tired of being tired!
Catching up on the Daily News. There's know such thing as CNN or any tv stations with English subtitles or speaking in the island. This had to do and it did.
On our way to "special breakfast" we came across this view across the street from where we'd be eating. All these fishing boats supply the thousand of restaurants in the city with fresh seafood daily on the cheap.

Convertible moped with the top up! Drop that top dawg and get your tan on!

All I saw was green onion, parsley, pork, beans, corn, and peppers. Once again to our surprise this was so good!

This was what they used to make the desert. Not sure what everything was but I recognized watermelon and corn and milk.
'twas good I must say! Very refreshing!

Special breakfast in Sanya!

Michael and Terry like taking us to these local spots wherever we are and say that it's a "special place". I take it that means it's the best or their favorite place to eat. The first morning in Sanya, Dyson and I were looking forwards to a regular American breakfast. Some eggs, bacon, and toast or something not Chinese. This was not to be because we're going to a "special place"! We ended up in one of these busy neighborhoods lined with small outdoor restaurants and local shops. This particular shop had the longest line compared to the others so it must've meant it was better. Usually that means some type of mystery meat like pidgeon, snake, frog, sheep, or something. You know things we don't normally eat in America on a regular basis. Ended up they specialized in a rice noodle with what tasted like pork, intestines, green onions, and parsley with a pork based broth. Kinda reminded me of chicken long rice but with thicker noodles if that makes any sense at all. We also had a bread that was similar to malasadas without sugar that's used to sop up the broth. Ended up being pretty good, but we still wanted our regular American breakfast!
