The "Bitchin' Party" was a skate event set up by Russ Pope from Transportation Unit, the Stopnick's from the Cycle Zombies, and Jon Tubbs from Dixie Long Beach. The event took place out in the back of Dixie's parking lot where there were a ton of skateboarders attacking the worlds longest parking block. I believe Russ said it was four parking blocks joined together painted and sauced to make up for one hell of a slappy or railslide! At each end there was a quarter pipe but I noticed everyone was just taking a running start so they could attempt to make it from one end to the other of the parking block. Aside from that there was a bbq going on, beer in a bath tub, motorcycles, Stack Aly DJ'ing the event, and The Black Tibetans playing inside Dixie. It was a pretty good vibe and good group of people in attendance which made for a pretty fun evening!

| Got to meet Dean Micetich from Dice Magazine before they began their set. I follow him on the Dice website and I gotta say he's a pretty cool guy in person. He's living the dream of traveling the globe doing events to promote the launch for each issue of Dice Magazine. All the launches seem to take place at one of their friends shops or bars in different locations like Los Angeles, Iowa, New York, London, Japan or where ever. Good excuse to go hang out with friends I'd say! |
