Cycle Zombies x Dice Magazine Release at Stance

On June 21st 2014 the Shakas and Alohas Ohana posted up at the Stance HQ for a little BBQ / Motorcyles / Skateboarding event for the Cycle Zombies x Dice  release party. It was a pretty crazy event and all though we spent the majority of the time behind the hot smoky grill, we did manage to catch a quick glimpse of what was going on right behind our backs inside the Stance HQ!

I tried to get up there to check out the bowl but it was too crowded and I only made it half way up the stairs. I heard that Kyle Yanagimoto was putting on a demo up there that's why!!!

This is Stance's NBA regulation size basketball court. Today they're using it to display some of the motorcycles that the Cycle Zombies chose to participate in their show with Dice and Stance.

The big piece on the wall was freshly installed about a week before the show by artist Zio Ziegler.

Brawny's Mako stood out amongst all the vintage styled choppers that were on display.

Stance utitilzed every inch of space in their HQ with big packing containers. Upstairs provides a clear view of everything going on below as well as doubles as office space.

Big Scott Stopnick working on his swing at the Stance golf simulator. For those of you who golf, Stance just started a golf line as well. They're doing ground breaking things merging fashion with function for those golfers out there who want to add fun to their game!

Mahalo to Scotty and the Stopnick Ohana as well as Stance for having Shakas and Alohas out to BBQ local style for their event. We had a great time and hope to do it again soon!

Bitchin' Party at Dixie Long Beach

The "Bitchin' Party" was a skate event set up by Russ Pope from Transportation Unit, the Stopnick's from the Cycle Zombies, and Jon Tubbs from Dixie Long Beach. The event took place out in the back of Dixie's parking lot where there were a ton of skateboarders attacking the worlds longest parking block. I believe Russ said it was four parking blocks joined together painted and sauced to make up for one hell of a slappy or railslide! At each end there was a quarter pipe but I noticed everyone was just taking a running start so they could attempt to make it from one end to the other of the parking block. Aside from that there was a bbq going on, beer in a bath tub, motorcycles, Stack Aly DJ'ing the event, and The Black Tibetans playing inside Dixie. It was a pretty good vibe and good group of people in attendance which made for a pretty fun evening!

Guys were going nuts on the curb. This is what it looked like on the right side of the parking lot.

And here's what it looked like on the left side. This was early on in the evening, an hour or so later the parking lot was completely packed with skaters trying to conquer the entire thing!

Meanwhile inside Dixie...

People were trying to get prime seating to watch The Black Tibetans before everyone came in from outside at the skate event.

Got to meet Dean Micetich from Dice Magazine before they began their set. I follow him on the Dice website and I gotta say he's a pretty cool guy in person. He's living the dream of traveling the globe doing events to promote the launch for each issue of Dice Magazine. All the launches seem to take place at one of their friends shops or bars in different locations like Los Angeles, Iowa, New York, London, Japan or where ever. Good excuse to go hang out with friends I'd say!

While I was talking story with Dean they were waiting on the bass player pictured here who was on Hawaiian time. All good though because it was worth the wait for the crowd because the music was cool and that gave everyone an excuse to drink one or two more beers to get prepped for the show!

Mahalo to Dixie, Transportation Unit, Cycle Zombies, and The Black Tibetans for a fun evening!
