About 2 hours away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown touristy city of Sanya is Ryu Bay. Ryu Bay is home to the Ryu Surf Club and Jalenboo Surf Shop located right on the beach. The surf club also serves as a surf hostile where surfers from around the world can come to surf and have a place to stay. During the day most of the workers can be found giving surf lessons to tourist groups who are dropped off by bus.theres also a concrete mini ramp, mountain bikes, quads and scooters available. By night the place turns into a night club experience complete with DJ's and a lighting system stretched out onto the beach. Ryu Surf Club also serves fresh seafood caught by local fisherman.
Michael (Blue Hawaii Surf owner) and Terry (BH China owner) are working with the Ryu Bay Surf Club to become the official head sponsor of the Ryu Bay Surf Contest. They are also providing some surf equipment and accessories to the surf club. There will be a Blue Hawaii Surf section available in the Jalenboo Surf Shop as well.
Ryu Bay is also home to a WQS 4 star event held at the point of the bay. Word is it gets 4-6 ft. with hollow barrels peeling off a left from the point of the bay.
